Staying at the Lake Powell Resort was not bad (don’t expect it to be like the Venetian in Las Vegas but it has its pros). It was quiet and peaceful in a beautiful setting. If you are visiting Page, Arizona and the surrounding areas, I’d suggest give this place a try. I don’t remember if the food was good, or the bed was comfortable, but I definitely remember the sunrise!
We woke up at 4am when the moon was still up; when everything was still sleeping. We did not shower, did not brush teeth. Hair was all messy. Face was sleepy-looking. All because we didn’t want to miss it.
From our room to the lake side took us about…………10 seconds. Slowly, the sun peeked over the Navajo desert. When that started to happen, it was as if time was also going faster and faster. Then boom! There was the big fire ball like an atomic bomb exploded.
We didn’t immediately go back to sleep. When the sun came out, this place was also very nice even though I was really sleepy.
The big chimney in the far ground, that’s the Navajo Generating Station. That’s the 3rd biggest CO2 emitter in the United States. With its vapor, I was clearly able to identify this in the airplane 20,000 feet high.
